Freaky Friday

We have a small installation of rabbits. Chris really likes them—it’s his collection. One day we will build a house with a dedicated room for the rabbits.

Today’s daily prompt is: If you could be someone else for a day, who would you be, and why?

If I could, I would be one of our rabbits. Occasionally, one rogue rabbit will have wanderlust and leave the pack. I come downstairs and notice one is missing. It takes a while to find him as he is always semi-hidden; on top of cupboards, behind objets, under a chair leg. But he gets into places I can’t go and the world from his view must be very interesting.

I’d like to be someone else for a day but I don’t want a human’s eyes and brain and the baggage that goes with that. I’d like porcelain eyes and grey space for a brain.

Daily Prompt: Million-Dollar Question

Why do I blog?

Better question: [When I get around to blogging…], why do I blog?

1. I really, really, really want to save the precious process that is informing, influencing and directing my artmaking.

2. I want to learn more about the way I think.

3. I like the thought of a blog acting on behalf of a physical journal/sketchbook, and the aesthetic of digital word beside digital image on crisp white space.

4. A blog affords a 4D form or time-based digital documentation of process, which better highlights the web of connections influencing my practice.

So, I need to make a serious commitment to regular posts. Hopefully you will continue to watch this space to see if I succeed.
